BUNCOMBE COUNTY NC NEWS -- Senator Fred Smith, Candidate for Governor of North Carolina answers guests questions while attending the annual Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner at Madison High School. This event was filmed on March 8, 2008. for URTV Public Access TV in Asheville, North Carolina. Senator Smith discusses ways in which Democrats control the General Assembly, and that Republican senators will not be recognized on the senate floor in order to amend their bills by Lieutenant Governor Beverly Purdue. In addition, he discusses transportation, but is stumped by a railroad question. Finally, Senator Smith addresses the need for education reform.
