COUNTY NC NEWS -- Below are the Unofficial 2008 Primary Election results for NC GOP candidate for Governor. Of the 5,811,778 registered North Carolina voters, 2,116,439 cast ballots in the election. Voter turnout equaled 36.42 %, with Durham County and Tyrrell County having the highest turnout, 50% to 60%, among all one hundred counties.

Charlotte's Mayor Pat McCrory, the winner of the NC GOP Primary, will now face Democrat nominee Beverly Purdue in November.
