Of the 5,811,778 registered North Carolina voters, 2,116,439 cast ballots in the election. Voter turnout equaled 36.42 %, with Durham County and Tyrrell County having the highest turnout, 50% to 60%, among all one hundred counties.
Charlotte's Mayor Pat McCrory, the winner of the NC GOP Primary, will now face Democrat nominee Beverly Purdue in November. Below, Democratic Primary results show an overwhelming support for Lieutenant Governor Purdue.
Lieutenant Governor Purdue, carried most of the state, except for eight counties won by NC Treasurer, Richard Moore.
