TYM - USA's average weekly wage of the new jobs will be $846 plus benefitsOctober 9, 2007 WILSON COUNTY NC NEWS -- A new $30,000 One North Carolina grant between the state, Wilson County, and a South Korean tractor manufacturer, will help create 31 jobs in Wilson. TYM-USA is the U.S. subsidiary of South Korean tractor manufacturer Tong Yang Moolsan Co. The company will open a facility in Wilson for the assembly of diesel tractors used in construction and agriculture. While wages will vary by job function, the average weekly wage of the new jobs will be $846 plus benefits, which is more than the Wilson County average weekly wage of $615 not including benefits. As well as creating 31 jobs during the next three years, TYM-USA will also invest $1.1 million into the plant. President of TYM-USA, Robert Mullett said, "We seriously considered several locations for the new operation, but decided that Wilson County was the place to be, as it offers all that we were looking for. We received excellent assistance from local government officials, which helped us reach our decision." Governor Easley, announcing the grant, said, "North Carolina is 12th in the nation in the automotive truck, bus and heavy equipment industry, with more than 1,000 companies. Our state's investment in workforce training and education keeps us competitive in this growing sector of the global economy." State Senator A.B. Swindell, (Dem) of Nash and Wilson Counties, added, "North Carolina is providing the economic climate and workforce that growing companies, such as TYM-USA are looking for. This is the kind of decision that helps communities, particularly in the more rural parts of our state, thrive and grow." The One North Carolina Fund assists the state in industry recruitment and expansion by providing financial assistance through a state and local government fund match to attract business projects that will stimulate economic development creating new jobs in the state generating tax revenue. More than 28,000 jobs and $4 billion in investment have been created since 2001. Other partners that helped make this economic development possible include the N.C.
