Investing $555,000, creating 44 jobsJuly 19, 2007 RUTHERFORD COUNTY NC NEWS -- A Rutherford County business is investing $555,000, creating 44 jobs over the next three years. Thieman Metal Technologies, a metal fabrication contract company, will expand its facility in Ellenboro. The project was made possible in part by a $45,000 One North Carolina Fund grant. While wages will vary by job function, the average weekly wage of the new jobs will be $586 plus benefits, which is more than the Rutherford County average weekly wage of $528 not including benefits. Thieman Metal Technologies will create a new company called Revo Industries. Revo will be located within its existing Ellenboro facility primarily to powder coat, assemble and produce turnkey products for the industrial and construction industries. Powder coating is a dry-finish process that uses electrostatically charged particles instead of traditional wet paint methods, as well as replacing many applications were chroming was used. The powder coating industry is an extremely fast growing industry promising to continue to gain popularity and advance technology. The company currently employs about 70 people in North Carolina. Trevor Altman, Thieman Metal Technologies' vice president thanking North Carolina and the community of Rutherford County for their support of the company said: ''We must first extend our appreciation to the State of North Carolina and Rutherford County for supporting our growth over the past few years. We are now looking forward to implementing Revo Industries to complement our core business of metal fabrications with powder coating and other services that will enhance our capabilities to continually improve service to our customers. The incentives from North Carolina and Rutherford County will allow us to preserve efficiencies of maintaining all operations consolidated here in North Carolina.'' Governor Easley commenting on the expansion said: " In this competitive business environment, companies always have several options for expansion. Thieman Metal Technology's decision to expand in North Carolina is a result of our commitment to workforce development, education and providing the nation's top-rated business-friendly environment." Both Rutherford County general assembly representatives, State Senator Walter Dalton and State House Representative Bob England spoke very highly of Thieman Metal Technologies decision to expand in Rutherford County. North Carolina State Senator Walter Dalton said, "I am pleased that Thieman has decided to expand in Rutherford County and I know the company is proud of its workforce." North Carolina State House Representative Bob England said, "Our economic development policies encourage cooperation between state, local and education officials. Companies such as Thieman recognize this and know North Carolina is a good place to grow." The One North Carolina Fund assists the state in industry recruitment and expansion by providing financial assistance through local governments to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. One North Carolina Fund grants require and are contingent upon a local match. Through the use of this Fund, more than 25,000 jobs and $3.5 billion in investment have been created since 2001. The following partners who also helped make Thieman Metal Technologies expansion possible included the N.C. Department of Commerce, Rutherford County and Isothermal Community College.
