| NC Racial Justice Act - Saving Murderers |
| NC NEWS -- On July 15, 2009, 61 House Democrats voted for Senate Bill "NC Racial Justice Act" (SB461). Federal and State law already prohibits racial discrimination in imposing death sentence for first degree murder (and any crime). However, this bill goes far beyond current law by allowing use of statistics in a particular county or district to prove that since some other person was possibly discriminated against, that an alleged murderer may not be subject to the death sentence for first degree murder notwithstanding lack of real evidence of actual discrimination... |

State Auditor released a grant review of Operation Sickle Cell in Fayetteville, North Carolina,

| State Auditor Recommends Attorney General Investigate Defunct Hoke County Youth and Family Services |
| HOKE COUNTY NC NEWS -- State Auditor recommends the State Attorney General
investigate the former organization of now defunct Hoke County Youth and Family
Services. A recently released grant review found that the nonprofit did not keep adequate
records. State Auditor, Leslie Merritt said, "After spending over $135,000 of the taxpayers'
money, the organization is no longer in existence and cannot supply adequate documentation on how
