Edward Goodall (Republican)
Senator Edward Goodall (Republican),
representing Mecklenburg and Union Counties
is retired and a former CPA. Senator Goodall is a member of the
Education/Public Instruction Committee. The Senator has introduced such bills
as:
- Senate Bill 104 An Act to repeal the estate and gift
taxes.
- Senate Bill 701 An Act to study the feasibility of
televising all legislative sessions and selected committee meetings.
- Senate Bill 1220 "An Act to appropriate funds to the north
carolina agency for public telecommunications to purchase equipment and produce
televised sessions of the general assembly.

NC NEWS - Structured Sentencing began October 1,
1994. Prior to that, murders committed were punished by Fair
Sentencing. The Parole Board has always treated a life sentence
under Fair Sentencing as being eligible for parole after 20 years.
That means up to 77 murderers on death row could be paroled in 20
years. If they have gain time, it might even be 1 year or
less...
