AmerLink Ltd. Log Home Manufacturer Expands

Invests $1.8 million to expand in Battleboro, Nash County, North Carolina.

NASH COUNTY NC NEWS -- AmerLink Ltd., manufacturer of handcrafted custom-made and manufactured log homes, will investing $1.8 million to expand in Battleboro, Nash County, North Carolina. The expansion will create 50 jobs during the next three years. The AmerLink expansion move includes a $50,000 One North Carolina Fund grant contribution.

Governor Easley speaking of the Nash County expansion said: ''AmerLink's decision brings more good-paying jobs to Nash County. Businesses recognize North Carolina's focused and innovative state and community partnerships make our state a place where firms can expand and be successful.''

AmerLink Ltd. is the parent company of the ''In the Woods'' brand of log home packages for the residential and commercial markets. The company will expand its headquarters in Battleboro with the addition of telemarketing positions along with design and planning staff. While wages will vary by job function, the average weekly wage of the new jobs will be $838 plus benefits which is more than the Nash County average weekly wage of $531 not including benefits. AmerLink also has sales centers in New York, Tennessee and Virginia.

John Barth, CEO for AmerLink Ltd., remarking on the investment, said: "We've sold more than 5,000 homes to date, and are recognized as one of the leading log home companies in the country. The decision to expand our Nash County headquarters enables us to provide more jobs for the local workforce as we scale the business to meet strong and sustained sales growth."

The One North Carolina Fund assists the state in industry recruitment and expansion by providing financial assistance through local governments to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. One North Carolina Fund grants require and are contingent upon a local match. Through the use of this Fund, more than 25,000 jobs and $3.5 billion in investment have been created since 2001.
