War on Terror UpdateIraqi shop owners in southern Baghdad are now reopening their businesses - Raid Report - UAV kills two TerroristsApril 9, 2008 COUNTY NC NEWS -- The Iraqi Freedom Minute has released the following update. Do to successful Coalition Force's troop surge and recent security improvements. Iraqi shop owners in southern Baghdad are now reopening their businesses. According to the Iraqi Freedom Minute, Coalition civil affairs' teams are offering micro-grants to shopkeepers who are most in need of financial assistance to restart their businesses. Micro-grants can range from $200 to $2,500, and are successfully stimulating shop openings such as bakeries, chicken rotisseries, and ice cream shops. Meanwhile, Multi-National coalition forces met today to evaluate the energy needs of the Iraqi forces and share ideas with all levels of military forces. Elsewhere, in a Raid Report, U.S. Soldiers make the discovery of an insurgent training camp in Balad. A report of the detaining of al-Qaida fighters by a S.W.A.T. unit in Baqubah, and a ISOF Team captured asuspected terrorists in Basrah as well as coalition forces discovered of a large weapons cache in Tikrit. Finally, DOD also released video of our boys using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to fire a hellfire missile killing two armed terrorists in northeastern Baghdad.
