Vacation in North Carolina
North Carolina is a copious land
of hidden vacation resources. From southern hometown
festivals to quiet vacation getaways, North Carolina
offers three uniquely different geographical regions, which provide a generous assortment
of recreational activities.
Geographically North Carolina borders the Atlantic ocean gradually
sloping across its coastal plain through the Piedmont
into the Appalachian mountains. Giving each region, it's own unique
natural and cultural characteristics. For example, the North Carolina coast's natural white
sand beaches of the Outer Banks provide a world class summer's vacation of
sun and sport. Meanwhile, traveling 200 miles east, in Raleigh the state's Capitol, is
Mordecai Historic Park, offering visitors a glimpse into the grand old south. The Piedmont
is a land of majestic rolling hills known for NASCAR racing, crafting, and furniture
making, but it is also home to some of the best world class golf courses.
Going further westward, one reaches North Carolina's Appalachian mountain region. Once
again finding a completely different culture defined by god, blue grass music, and
southern country living. Nestled in panoramic scenic mountain vistas one
finds delightful natural freshwater pools, falls, and creeks, to take a refreshing dip on a
hot summer's day. Nature buffs will be thrilled at the natural beauty and wildlife thriving
within the vast stretches of National forest which cover the region. There
is no doubt that North Carolina will furnish any traveler with memories for their
lifetime.
